Sunset Elementary students in Mariska Harris' PE classes are learning how to play pickleball.

Fifth graders competed against each other during class time. Even SSES Principal Tina Aaron joined in on the fun.

"I have never played pickleball before, and it’s really fun," said SSES student Isabelle Smith. "Our teacher taught us all the rules, how to hit the ball properly and about all the different pickleball terms like kitchen."

Students at Grassland Middle honored those who have served in the Armed Forces with their Veterans Day program on November 11.

With the help of the Franklin High Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps and members of the Franklin High choir, GMS students recited poems, played music and sang songs to recognize the service members.

"Veterans Day means a lot to me," said GMS student Aven Veale. "It helps me recognize that people are willing to die so we can be here and do what we do."
