Schools of the Week: Longview Elementary and Hillsboro School - Middle
Published December 18, 2024
Students at Longview Elementary are honing their skills in art teacher Tristen Evans' class.
For their latest project, students are drawing castles they would want to live in. They are also learning about different structures that make up a tower and creating their own coat of arms and flags to add to their drawings.
"My design for my castle is a fairytale style, and I am really loving this," said LVES fourth grader Lorelai Couch. "My crest is a lion because my castle is all about cats. Ms. Evans taught us how to use a ruler to create different shapes and how to draw a drawbridge and moat."
Seventh and eighth graders at Hillsboro School celebrated the end of the semester with a PBIS reward lunch on Monday, December 16.
Each winner had the opportunity to bring two friends to enjoy a pizza lunch with Oreos for dessert.
"The students that are here today have earned points for good behavior," said HEMS eighth graders Kate Alexandro and Isla Bussone. "We were selected, and we get a fun holiday lunch with our friends."
