Schools of the Week: Lipscomb Elementary and Independence High

Families of Lipscomb Elementary students were welcomed into the building November 12 for a special morning of fun.
Students had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast with their loved ones and then take a trip to the book fair.
"The book fair is amazing because I like shopping, and there are so many great books here" said LES student Sarah Omer. "I found a Harry Potter book that I think I'll really like."
The Independence High adaptive theater classes are giving the school's theater students a makeover.
Students in the adaptive theater program have been learning about stage makeup. Last week, they created their own designs and sketches on paper. On Monday, November 18, they had the opportunity to put their design on the face of a theater student.
"We came in and got to be the models and get our makeup done by the adaptive theater students," said IHS student Ethan Fletcher. "I think it is a fun and wholesome way to interact with the adaptive students. It’s also a good opportunity to experience the other side of Independence that we don't always see."
