Schools of the Week: Franklin High and Crockett Elementary
Published March 5, 2024
Students at Franklin High are learning about molecules.
FHS chemistry teacher Dr. Dena Leggett tasked her students with building models in her class on February 28. Using the kits, students were able to create the different kinds of molecules they had been studying.
Stories came to life at Crockett Elementary during the school's Character Parade March 1.
For the parade, students created floats representing their favorite books. They showcased their finished floats as they walked through the school.
“The kids get to embody their favorite character, and when they become invested in a character, they are more likely to come check out a book about that character," said CES library assistant Lorrie Johannessen. "We want to instill a love of reading in our students, especially in the kindergarten, first and second graders who are learning how to read. This fun event and environment allows for that.”
