Schools of the Week: Edmondson Elementary and Spring Station Middle

Published October 22, 2024

The Edmondson Elementary student council is working hard to help its community.

From October 14 until October 25, the student council is hosting a clothing drive. This week, they are standing outside every morning in the car line to encourage others to donate in-need items for Shwab Elementary in Nashville.

"It feels really satisfying because you know that you're helping other children," said EES student Mriga Dharmadhikari. "It's a really good cause."

The Spring Station Middle eighth-grade band is getting into the Halloween spirit.

On Tuesday, October 29, the school will host a Spooktacular Fall Festival and Concert. Starting at 4 p.m., students and their families are invited to enjoy carnival games as well as performances from several ensembles and groups at the school.

"It’s a Halloween concert where the color guard, drum line, orchestra and the eighth-grade band perform," said SSMS student Ellie Stein. "We are playing music from Scooby-Doo, Ghostbusters, Grim Grinning Ghosts and Dark Ride."
