Schools of the Week: Crockett Elementary and Fairview High

Crockett Elementary opened its doors to students and their families on Wednesday, October 30.
To celebrate the school's book fair, CES families were invited to enjoy a quick breakfast, shop at the book fair and read together.
"I have a chocolate donut," said CES student Lorraine Vossler. "I'm really excited to get different books at the book fair."
Chemistry students at Fairview High are learning about endothermic and exothermic reactions with the help of pumpkins.
In FVHS Marcus Pennington's class, students watched the chemical reactions take place inside a pumpkin, resulting in an explosion of light.
"We're learning about the equations that go with the reactions," said FVHS student Hudson Mangrum. "The best part was that I got to put the reactions inside the pumpkins out by using the fire extinguisher. My favorite part about Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry is the hands-on labs. Mr. Pennington makes them really fun and exciting."
