Students at Thompson's Station Middle are getting a fun lesson about dry ice and reactions.

In science teacher Elizabeth Campbell's EXPRESS class, students hypothesized and observed different reactions to dry ice experiments. They saw how dry ice, which is another term for frozen carbon dioxide, reacted in various environments including cold water, hot water and a bubble solution.

"Through these experiments we were able to see the process of sublimation and deposition," Campbell said. "EXPRESS sessions are great because they give students a chance to explore enrichment opportunities in the fields they enjoy. This particular experiment was to show the students how awesome science can be."
