Schools of the Week: Sunset Elementary and Page High

Sunset Elementary

Students at Sunset Elementary found a fun way to celebrate reaching their fundraising goal.

Throughout the past couple weeks, students have been raising money to go toward playground improvement and a walking track. As of Monday, March 6, a total of $25,000 has been raised. To celebrate, students participated in a fun run, complete with lights, music and a cheering section full of family members.

"We ran around the gym for our fundraiser," said SSES second-grader Carina Roop. "I lost count of how many laps I ran."

Page High

Page High theater students were hard at work during their performance of 9 to 5.

Students retold the story of the classic '80s movie and had fun while doing it. The work of 62 cast and crew members came to fruition during four shows March 2-4.

"This was a really special show because my seniors this year were freshmen when COVID hit, so we've been through a lot together," said PHS theater director Michelle Tripp. "I am very blessed to work with such talented and respectful students. It warms my heart that these kids would leave rehearsal thanking me for my time. Needless to say, there were many tears shed before curtain on our closing night."
