The Schools of the Week spotlight is on Sunset Elementary and Page High this week. Take a look at the photo galleries below to see some of the fun in each school building, and see quotes from employees and students about what makes their school great.

Sunset Elementary

"I like the teachers and my friends. I love all of the different things I get to learn at school." - SSES student Carys Roop

"With being a first-year teacher, many obstacles are faced throughout the school year that a college education does not prepare you for. At Sunset, the willingness to help in any situation is one like I could have never imagined. The dynamics of the school are vigorous yet supportive, and the students put forth their best effort to succeed and grow as learners. The faculty has the same mindset. I have loved my first year here, and I am so thankful for all who have helped me along the way." - SSES teacher Taryn Richter

Students at Sunset Elementary found a fun way to celebrate reaching their fundraising goal.

Throughout the past couple weeks, students have been raising money to go toward playground improvement and a walking track. As of Monday, March 6, a total of $25,000 has been raised. To celebrate, students participated in a fun run, complete with lights, music and a cheering section full of family members.

"We ran around the gym for our fundraiser," said SSES second-grader Carina Roop. "I lost count of how many laps I ran."

Page High

"My favorite part of attending Page High is their support for every activity taking place within the school. Between football games, FFA and theatre, every single activity is always announced, celebrated and encouraged. ." - PHS student Ahnna Tate

"I am amazed at the family atmosphere at Page. Everyone from the students to faculty to administration works and supports each other in every way imaginable." - PHS teacher Suzanne Morrow

Page High theater students were hard at work during their performance of 9 to 5.

Students retold the story of the classic '80s movie and had fun while doing it. The work of 62 cast and crew members came to fruition during four shows March 2-4.

"This was a really special show because my seniors this year were freshmen when COVID hit, so we've been through a lot together," said PHS theater director Michelle Tripp. "I am very blessed to work with such talented and respectful students. It warms my heart that these kids would leave rehearsal thanking me for my time. Needless to say, there were many tears shed before curtain on our closing night."
