Scales Elementary Brings The Lion King Jr. to the Stage
- 2025
- April
The circle of life was on full display at Scales Elementary as students delivered a roaring rendition of The Lion King Jr on April 7.
The young actors brought to life the beloved characters of Simba, Mufasa and Scar and sang crowd favorites like "Hakuna Matata," "Be Prepared" and "I Just Can't Wait to be King."
The performance was the last of four shows that took place April 4-7, giving students in the cast a chance to showcase their talent for family and friends.
"I was one of the main hyenas," said fifth grader Eleanor Smith. "I loved getting my face painted. I also liked bowing at the end of each show."
Eleanor says she had such a great time, she encourages other elementary students to explore acting as well.
"I think everyone should do a play because you can learn life skills like how to be respectful to others," said Eleanor. "Everyone should try it once to see if they like being in plays, and if they do, keep doing it!"
