Nolensville Elementary fourth graders learned about African American music history for their latest choir concert.

Students performed several songs, including What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. They also showed their skills with their recorders and other instruments for two of the songs.

"These fourth-grade students sang songs in the style of jazz, blues and hip-hop in honor of Black History Month," said NES music teacher Jennifer Brown. "My students loved learning the songs and the different vocal stylistic touches within the pieces. I was so proud of these young performers and how they were able to stay together as an ensemble."

Brown also included a special arrangement of Robert Frost's poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, after the students studied the poem last semester. The composer, Lowell Prescott, recorded the arrangement specifically for Nolensville Elementary.
