Future entrepreneurs showed off their business ideas May 2 at the MX Showcase in Franklin.

Eighth graders representing Grassland, Hillsboro, Legacy, Sunset, Thompson's Station and Woodland middle schools pitched their ideas to parents, teachers and administrators at the district's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (EIC).

The students were tasked with creating their own hypothetical businesses along with a prototype of the product they wish to sell. Each group also developed a trifold and an elevator pitch to advertise their business.

"We are just so proud of these students and the work they've put into this project," said EIC Assistant Director Paula Chilton. "We have students who've come up with some brilliant business ideas, everything from an app that helps people with reading disabilities to healthy, homemade dog treats. We just love being part of these students' entrepreneurial journeys."
