On Friday, November 17, Walnut Grove Elementary hosted its annual Read-a-Thon event.
The students and staff dressed up as their favorite book characters and paraded around the school. This year, ATMOS Energy attended the parade and presented the school with a $5,000 donation, which was used to purchase new library books.
During the parade, Gus the Gopher and Rosie the Skunk, the ATMOS mascots, distributed bags of new books to each teacher as they walked along the track with their students.
