WCS TV/Film Students Nominated for National Awards

The TV/Film programs at three WCS high schools are in the running for national awards from the organization that presents the Emmys.
Students from Brentwood, Fairview and Franklin high schools received four nominations at this year's National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) National Student Production Awards.
More than 2,000 entries in 24 categories were submitted nationwide. The national nominations were chosen from the winners of the regional competitions.
From Brentwood High, David Ward's video, Stickers!, is a nominee in the Best Commercial category. The Brentwood High TV/Film teacher is Sloan Ashworth.
From Fairview High, Robumentary, created by Christian Halford and Jacob Halford, is in the running for Best Non-Fiction Long Form category. Their teacher is Rob Gregory.
Franklin High has two nominations. The FHS Lip Dub, created by Emmaline Warden, Blais Cameron, Audrey Fletcher, Dennis Morrison, Barrett Sheetz, Anna Raye Jones, Brenden LeStrange, Wren Kinzig and Jay King, is nominated for Best Arts/Entertainment/Cultural Affairs. In the Best Sports Story or Segment, Anna Raye Jones' video, 22 Games, is a contender. Their teacher is Keri Thompson.
The winners will be announced on Thursday, November 21, at 12 p.m. Central Standard Time. The ceremony will be live-streamed on the Emmys website.
