WCS Ignites New Pathway with Fire Management Program Signing Day
- 2025

WCS students are preparing to suit up for future careers in public safety.
On May 22, Williamson County Schools and the Franklin Fire Department celebrated the launch of a new program with a special signing day ceremony.
The event recognized students who've been selected for the WCS Fire Management program. The year-long course will begin in the 2025-26 school year for rising high school seniors. The program will give students hands-on experience and an in-depth look at careers in fire protection and public safety.
“We are proud to offer our students real-world experiences that lead to meaningful careers,” said WCS Assistant Director of College, Career and Technical Education Kris Schneider. “This initiative shows the power of a public school system, a public service organization and a city coming together for one common goal. It’s more than turnout gear and fire trucks. It’s about instilling purpose, discipline and initiative and building a sense of community.”
A total of 12 students signed commitment letters at the event. The Fire Management program is one of several new courses that will eventually be housed at the district's new Innovation Hub when it opens in the Fall of 2026.
