February is National College, Career and Technical Education (CCTE) Month. As part of the celebration, eighth graders are preparing for their future by participating in Exploration Day on February 4.

Exploration Day gives students a chance to tour their zoned high school and learn about programs that range from Architecture and TV/Film Production to Early Childhood Education, Mechatronics, Health Science and more.

Students will also learn about the various Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). These organizations present opportunities for leadership development, skill enhancement and networking with peers who share similar interests.

"Our high schools are excited to welcome the Class of 2029 and share the thrilling opportunities that await them," said CCTE Assistant Director Kris Schneider. "With nearly 40 different programs of study, our CCTE program encourages students to take advantage of and explore their individual strengths and how those may align with a rewarding career."

To learn more about the district's CCTE program as well as which classes are offered at each high school, visit the WCS website.
