  • January

Big news out of Page High School where all 22 medical assistant students are now Certified Clinical Medical Assistants.

The students passed their national certification exam in December and will participate in the work-based learning program this semester.

"These students will either get jobs in the healthcare field or go into various shadowing experiences based on different facility regulations," said PHS Medical Sciences teacher Suzanne Morrow. "This level of experience within the industry is invaluable for the students and will make them highly competitive in their chosen fields. All of the students are currently enrolled in work-based learning and are working or interning in the healthcare field and getting amazing opportunities to implement the knowledge and skills they've attained in the last three years."

The Page High Medical Assistant class is part of the Therapeutic Services College, Career and Technical Education (CCTE) pathway. By attaining their Medical Assistant Certification, students are able to work in the healthcare field while they pursue any post-secondary education.
