Brentwood City Commission Donates to Area Schools

The Brentwood City Commission is continuing its annual tradition of giving money to the Williamson County schools that serve Brentwood-area students.

This year, the commission donated a total of $237,100 at its August 24 meeting. Brentwood and Ravenwood high schools both received $62,400. Brentwood, Sunset and Woodland middle schools received $15,600 each. Crockett, Edmondson, Jordan, Kenrose, Lipscomb and Scales elementary schools were awarded $10,400 each. Sunset Elementary was given $3,100 due to the lower percentage of Brentwood students enrolled.

“Brentwood is a special community because of the strong support it gives to public education,” said BHS Principal Kevin Keidel. “The City Commission's generosity creates meaningful opportunities for our students to learn, compete, perform and grow. From academics to athletics and the arts, these experiences have a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for the City's partnership and commitment to our students.”

The Brentwood City Commission began donating to Brentwood area WCS schools in 1986 and has since donated more than $7 million to the district. Those funds have been used to purchase music equipment, athletic equipment, classroom technology and other improvements.

"This investment will help provide our teachers with high-quality professional development, instructional coaching and collaborative lesson design opportunities as they work to remove learning barriers and make learning accessible for every student."
