Board Names Webb Interim Superintendent

The Williamson County School Board named Dr. Leigh Webb as Interim Superintendent at its June 29 Special Called Board Meeting. She will replace Superintendent Jason Golden who announced last week that he has accepted a position with Franklin Special District.

Board Chair Josh Brown made the motion to nominate Webb, who has served as Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools since 2018.

"The people in this school system have a lot of trust in Dr. Webb," said Brown. "This is a really important role, and it’s important that the transition is seamless. We really appreciate her willingness to step up and do this, and we know she'll lead with integrity and focus."

Webb began her career in Williamson County Schools in 2004 as an English teacher at Franklin High. She served as an assistant principal at Ravenwood High for eight years before moving to Centennial High School as principal. In 2017, Webb was named Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, a position she held for one year before being named Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and I am honored to step into the Interim Superintendent role to support our shared mission. We are recognized as leaders in education across the state and nation, and this good work continues."

Webb will begin her role as Interim Superintendent on July 15.
