Grassland Middle, Franklin High Recognized for Fine Arts Excellence

Grassland Middle and Franklin High are two of 10 Tennessee schools to be named Tennessee Arts Academy (TAA) 2026 Arts Rich Schools of Merit.

Both schools are now in the running for the TAA Arts Rich School of the Year for their respective grade level. This is Franklin High's second time to be named a School of Merit.

"Grassland Middle and Franklin High are both excellent examples of the incredible work our schools are doing in the fine arts," said WCS Fine Arts Director Mark Kinzer. "We couldn't be more excited for the students and staff at both schools for this honor."

Schools of Merit are recognized for excellence in their music, art, theater and dance programs. This year's competition saw the most applicants in the Arts Rich Schools Program and Awards history.

The TAA Arts Rich Schools of the Year will be announced later this spring and honored in July at the TAA Summer Institute.
