The Franklin Band brought home the hardware from the MTSU Contest of Champions competition on October 26.

The Franklin Band's show, Under the Hood, earned them the Grand Champion title. Franklin High was also awarded the Tennessee Governor's Cup and Outstanding Visual Performance, and the band was recognized for superior musical performance. The last time the Franklin Band won the Contest of Champions was 2018.

"What an honor to be named Grand Champion surrounded by so many talented and incredible bands," said FHS band director Dr. Michael Holland. "I'm so proud of our students' determination, grit and dedication to our program. This achievement wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the support of our amazing parents, staff and designers."

Summit High's marching band placed fifth overall, competing against bands in Tennessee and surrounding states. Brentwood High's marching band was awarded the first Joseph T. Smith Esprit de Corps Award.

Brentwood, Franklin, Page and Summit high schools were represented at the competition.
