WCS Online Will Open August 9

Published August 6, 2019

The Williamson County Schools Online Learning Program has a new name – WCS Online.

“We wanted a name that showed affiliation with WCS,” said WCS Online Director Allison Fisher. “As we continue to grow as a program, we wanted Williamson County students to know that they have an online option.”

The growing program will follow the usual school calendar.

Students will be able to access their courses as well as the Student Orientation Course beginning August 9. This orientation course aims to teach students how to navigate Schoology, the learning management system for WCS Online. Using Schoology, students will access coursework, communicate with teachers and classmates and submit assignments.

Classes will be taught primarily online with a few in-person class meetings. The in-person meeting schedules are available in the course syllabi. Additionally, WCS Online is piloting entirely online courses in PE II and Lifetime Wellness. For these two classes only, the in-person meetings will be replaced with virtual meetings.

Currently, WCS Online offers the following courses:

  • English II
  • English III
  • English IV
  • Algebra II
  • Statistics
  • Bridge SAILS
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science A
