Williamson County Schools Superintendent Jason Golden has selected two WCS employees to fill the General Counsel and Assistant Superintendent for Operations positions.
WCS In-house Attorney Dana Ausbrooks will be taking on more responsibilities as she assumes the role of General Counsel. Ausbrooks joined Williamson County Schools in January of 2017.
Ausbrooks has practiced law for 19 years serving as an assistant public defender, in private practice and as a Tennessee Assistant Attorney General.
“I have no doubt Dana will continue to serve the district at the highest level,” said Golden. “Her knowledge, wisdom and passion for serving the community make her the best fit for this position.”
Ausbrooks earned her law degree from Nashville School of Law; and she received a Bachelor’s from O’More College of Design.
“I am honored to have been selected as new General Counsel for Williamson County Schools,” Ausbrooks said. “This is a school system with an exciting future, and I’m grateful to continue to work in a new role with Superintendent Jason Golden, the School Board, and the administration and staff to help shape the future of Williamson County Schools.”
Golden named WCS Maintenance Director Mark Samuels the new Assistant Superintendent for Operations.
Samuels joined the district in 2007. Prior to that time, he spent 30 years in the US Navy, completing his service at the rank of Captain. He oversaw facilities management, construction contracting and base operations support services both in the US and overseas.
“Mark’s years of experience will serve him well as he takes on the Assistant Superintendent for Operations position,” Golden said. “I know that he will continue his high-quality work in this new role.”
Samuels earned a Bachelor’s in Engineering at the US Naval Academy, and a Master’s in Engineering at Texas A&M University.
“I’m excited to be able to help our operational departments in improving our student-centered operational support systems,” Samuels said.
Ausbrooks and Samuels will begin their new roles immediately.
