During the Brownland Farms discussion for rezoning in Franklin, it was mentioned that students from that area would go to a new high school to be built in Westhaven. Is there any plan for a high school here? Has land been purchased? Where might it be?
We have a Five-Year Capital Plan that we update annually. Our next projected high school is projected to be North/Northwest of Franklin, and our Five-Year Capital Plan calls for it to open in the fall of 2025 based on current projections. We have not specified any particular location, but that school is generally projected to relieve Franklin and Independence high schools. We have not at any point stated that we plan to build a high school in Westhaven. The location is to be determined.
The purpose of this section is to answer any questions parents, teachers or community members might have regarding the school district and to set the record straight in regards to any rumors that might be circulating.
