Is the Triune elementary still going to open Fall 2021? Where will it be located?

The district is vetting properties for a new elementary school in the eastern part of the county. The district’s Five-Year Capital Plan, which is updated annually, currently lists the projected completion date for that project as Fall 2021.

I heard the district is planning to use a hybrid learning model in the fall where students will attend school a couple days a week and practice remote learning the rest of the week. Is that true?

With the unpredictability of COVID-19, WCS is preparing for the variety of possibilities that we might be facing this Fall from direct instruction on campus to direct instruction remotely. The staff continues to work to finalize plans and collect input with a goal of releasing a final plan at a July 20 School Board meeting.
