Oak View Hosts STEAM Challenge Day

Students at Oak View Elementary School are using their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, art and math to solve problems.
The school held its first STEAM Challenge Day of the school year October 9. As part of the event, students are given various challenges to complete based on their grade level.
STEAM activities included building tree structures, cleaning up an oil spill, and creating a create a freestanding cage that can hold a zoo animal. The fun even extended to other areas like PE, art and library.
“This is such a fun day for our students,” said Oak View Principal Amy Stephenson. “They get to work in groups and find ways to complete different challenges. I’m always amazed by their creativity and innovation.”
