Keep Communication Lines Open

Keeping the lines of communication open between parents and schools can be a key to student success.

If a parent has a concern about their child’s classroom or school, the parent should contact their child’s teacher first. If the issue is not resolved, the parent should reach out to the principal.

The assistant superintendent or executive director of elementary or secondary education is the next contact, followed by the superintendent. The final step is to contact a School Board representative.

“It’s important for parents to build a positive relationship with their child’s teachers and school,” said WCS Superintendent Jason Golden. “When a parent has a question, it’s best to always start by communicating with your child’s teacher first.”
