School Board Approves WCS Reopening Framework
Published July 14, 2020
The Williamson County Board of Education has approved the district’s Reopening Framework for 2020-21. The Board meet in a special session July 13.
The Reopening Framework informs parents about what to expect when Williamson County is experiencing Low, Medium or High community spread of COVID-19. It also addresses remote learning plans if campuses are closed and options for the WCS Online Learning Program. A side-by-side explanation of on-campus, remote and online learning is available on the WCS website.
The framework was developed through after district officials received guidance and input from health and safety experts, parents and parent groups and the business community.
“I want to thank our community,” said Superintendent Jason Golden. “There are so many people who participated in this. We’ve been able to have some detailed discussions with representatives from the state and local health departments about what their clear recommendations are. I’m so proud of the work our staff has done, and the work hasn’t stopped. We know that there will be more work as we continue.”
With the approval of the framework, the School Board voted to allow Golden to make necessary revisions as the situation evolves. In the case that any district policies are in conflict with the framework, the framework will be the deciding factor through the end of the 2020-21 school year.
