Get Notified on Bus Changes Through SafeStop

Published February 18, 2020

Parents, if you haven’t taken advantage of the free SafeStop app to keep track of your child’s school bus, you still have the opportunity to do so.

The app allows parents to set a notification area around the bus stop and receive notifications when a bus enters the area. Parents can also edit preferences to allow a sitter or grandparent to be alerted when the bus is near the stop. Parents may set the SafeStop app to work on early dismissal days.

General education, special education and substitute buses can be tracked through the app. Phone calls and emails will still be sent through Blackboard for time changes over 15 minutes, but the app allows push notifications if the bus is unexpectedly running late.

The app is available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. To access it online, visit the Safe Stop website. To create an account, parents will need the student’s Other ID found under the Student Info tab in the Skyward account. More information is available on the WCS Bus Routes page.
