Crockett Students Study Fiddler Crabs

Third grade students at Crockett Elementary are getting up close and personal with their latest science lesson.
Students in CES teacher Holly Vaughn’s class are studying fiddler crabs. The class is split into groups, and each group has the opportunity to observe a tank of crabs. During class time, the groups feed their crabs, switch out the water and observe how the crabs act.
“We’ve been learning about what they look like and how they move,” said CES third grader Cooper Matwijec. “You can touch them and pick them up. You get to actually have them right in front of you.”
