Crockett Elementary Students Get Crafty

Published February 25, 2020

Fifth grade students at Crockett Elementary are becoming interior decorators and learning to sew their own pillows.

Art teacher Crystal Jahnig’s class learned about the history of tie-dyeing, then dyed their own fabric squares with permanent markers before making the rest of the pillow.

“Now we get to pick out some other fabric and sew them together,” said CES fifth grader Molly Kerr. “This is my first time sewing, and it’s really fun. Now that I know how to do it, I can go home and make other pillows.”
