Application Deadline for TNAchieve Mentors Fast Approaching
Published November 12, 2019
Time is running out to submit applications to assist with the TNAchieves mentor program. The application deadline is December 1.
The TNAchieves mentor program is part of the Tennessee Promise, which provides an opportunity for every student in Tennessee to attend a community or technical college.
Each county has a mentor goal to reach. Williamson County has only reached 48 percent of its mentor goal. As of today, the county has 205 mentors recruited but needs 220 more.
TNAchieves partners students up with local mentors to serve as a resource. These mentors will help students as they go through the college admission process. Mentors will also make sure Tennessee Promise participants complete the necessary requirements to be eligible for the program.
Mentors must be at least 21 years old; pass a background check; complete mandatory mentor training; attend two meetings with their students per year; and communicate regularly via email, phone or text. Recruited mentors will be able to choose their preferred high school to work with.
