WCS Testing Window Begins April 11

Students in grades 3-8 will be using paper and pencil when they take the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) TNReady exams this year.

The Tennessee Department of Education made the decision with the goal of returning to online testing for the 2019-20 school year.

I’m a big fan of online testing,” said Tennessee Commissioner of Education Dr. Penny Schwinn. “When you think of where our students are going, it’s online. We are going to paper and pencil testing for one year only to ensure our vendor has a full year to set up their program.”

All high school and middle school EOC exams will be administered online. Students in grades 3-8 will take pencil and paper exams in each subject except for science, which will be an online and field-tested assessment.

The testing window for End-of-Course (EOC) Exams begins April 11. Testing for grades 3-8 will begin April 16.

Student in grades 3-8 will take the writing portion of the TCAP TNReady exam on April 16. The remaining portions of the test will be administered between April 23-29.
