Student Athletes Win State Titles at Spring Fling Tournament

Students from three WCS high schools are state champs after winning titles at this year’s Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Spring Fling Tournament.

The Spring Fling Tournament is an Olympic-style competition with events in baseball, softball, track and field, tennis and soccer. This year, the tournament was held May 21-24 in Rutherford County.

Listed below are the teams and individuals who won state titles:

Brentwood High

  • Boys Tennis State Champions
  • Girls Tennis State Champions
  • Donovan Janicek – Boys Tennis Singles State Champion
  • Hamsa Javagal – Girls Tennis Singles State Champion
  • Alex Torre and Georgia Fischer – Girls Tennis Doubles State Champion
  • Boys Track State Champions
  • Skylar Coffey – Boys Track Discus State Champion and Shot Put State Champion
  • Jett Kinder – Boys Track Pole Vault State Champion and Decathlon State Champion
  • Avery Williams – Boys Track Triple Jump State Champion

Centennial High

  • Avery McMullen – Girls Track Long Jump State Champion and Pentathlon State Champion

Franklin High

  • Boys Track 4 x 800 State Champions
