Scales Elementary Makes Numbers Fun

Published February 8, 2019

Hundreds of students and their families flocked to Scales Elementary February 5 for the school’s annual Math Night.

From Chutes and Ladders to a bean bag toss, students could brush up on their math skills, play games and enjoy a night with their families.

“The students like playing the games with their parents,” said Scales Elementary math specialist Jaimee Dresdner. “They’re getting to show off their math skills and teach their parents what they’re learning at school.”

There were plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved. For the first time, members of the Brentwood Robotics Team brought VEX robots for the elementary students to use. The STEM Builders of Franklin also brought some activities.

“Math Night is such a special night for the Scales community,” Dresdner said. “The students look forward to this every year.”
