Published April 23, 2019

Two winter guards from Williamson County high schools stood out at a regional level during the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit (SCGC) Color Guard Championships March 30.

Both Page and Summit high schools performed and scored high enough to earn medals. Summit High won a bronze medal in the Scholastic Regional A division, making them the highest-scoring team from Tennessee in their classification. This was the first time Summit High won a medal at the SCGC Color Guard Championships. Their show was called The Voyager.

“The Summit winter guard had a fantastic season,” said SHS band director Erick Harris. “The girls and staff worked very hard, and we are so very proud of their accomplishments.”

Page High’s guard performed its piece, Pulse. The group earned a silver medal and were the highest-scoring Tennessee team in the Scholastic AA division.

“The last time this was accomplished for us was 2012,” said PHS band director Michael Rosson. “Our students have grown so much over this season. They have bonded as young performers while relying on and trusting one another. We are so proud of our students at Page.”
