High School Media Programs Win at Western Kentucky

Two high school media programs are continuing to earn recognition after their success at the Western Kentucky University Film Festival.

Both Brentwood and Franklin high school media students entered their work in the Film Festival on March 1. More than 40 high schools from Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana competed.

This was Franklin High’s first time entering the competition.

“I am so proud that we took home two first place awards,” said FHS media teacher Keri Thompson. “The students work so hard to make contest-worthy productions, and it’s rewarding for them to recognized.”

Brentwood High School students won in five of the seven categories they entered, including Best Newscast.

“I continue to be amazed at some of the work turned in by my students,” said BHS TV & Film teacher Ronnie Adcock. “They put in the time and effort year-after-year. Now they’re being rewarded for it. They are just so creative and hard-working.”
