Academic All-Star – Christian Cornwell, Walnut Grove Elementary
Published April 30, 2019
Walnut Grove Elementary School is proud to name fifth grader Christian Cornwell as its Academic All-Star for the 2018-19 school year.
Teachers say Christian is a model student who deserves to be recognized for his impeccable behavior.
“Christian demonstrates curiosity and a can-do attitude in the classroom,” said his teachers. “He does not shrink back from a challenge. Even when the classroom environment might allow for a student to stray from his or her work, Christian is faithful to stick to the task at hand.”
Christian has attended Walnut Grove since kindergarten. Although he’s sad to be leaving WGES, Christian says he’s looking forward to the next challenge.
“I’ve enjoyed the learning and the friendships here at Walnut Grove,” said Christian. “I’m excited about Grassland Middle, especially getting to meet the teachers.”
If they’re anything like the teachers at Walnut Grove, Christian knows he’ll be in good hands at GMS.
“I like all of my teachers here,” said Christian. “They help us learn and teach us some valuable lessons.”
Teachers at Walnut Grove say Christian has already firmly-grasped one of the most important lessons in life: treating others with respect.
“Christian is consistently caring and wonderfully supportive toward his classmates,” said his teachers. “Rarely does a student come along who is both wholly dedicated to his academic endeavors and to maintaining strong, selfless relationships with his peers. We’re proud he’s our Academic All-Star.”
