Academic All-Star – Ava Aguilar, Pearre Creek Elementary
Published April 2, 2019
Pearre Creek Elementary School is proud to announce Ava Aguilar as its Academic All-Star for the 2018-19 school year.
Administrators say there are many reasons why Ava was chosen for this award including her commitment to excellence in the classroom and her willingness to help others.
“Ava is an enthusiastic learner who exemplifies Pearre Creek’s Eight Keys of Excellence,” said Pearre Creek Principal Janet Alexandrow. “She comes to school each day ready to work and gives her best effort on every assignment.”
Ava and her family moved to Tennessee from California several years ago. Although she’s excited for middle school next year, Ava says there is plenty she will miss about Pearre Creek.
“This is an amazing school,” said Ava. “It’s really fun, and I’ve made a lot of great friends here.”
Being a book lover, it’s no surprise that Ava’s favorite subject is reading or that she wants to be a book reviewer when she grows up. Other interests include art and music, which is one reason why Ava says she’s excited for middle school.
“I’m going to Hillsboro next year,” said Ava. “I want to be in the band so I’m looking forward to that. Also, there will be different classes, and we’ll get to switch a lot.”
Although Ava may have some nerves about middle school, administrators say the fifth grader’s dynamic personality will carry her far at the next level.
“Ava has a smile that brightens the day of those around her,” said Alexandrow. “She is an encouragement to peers and teachers alike.”
