Woodland Middle Principal Announced

Dr. Patrick Boyd has been named Principal of Woodland Middle School. Boyd replaces longtime principal Priscilla Fizer who announced her retirement earlier this year.
Boyd began his career in Williamson County Schools 15 years ago. He taught history at Ravenwood High for nine years before serving as an assistant principal at Centennial for the past six years.
“Dr. Boyd’s experience in the district makes him an excellent choice for Woodland,” said Looney. “Not only is he an instructional leader but he’s a relationship builder. In addition, as a member of the Woodland school community, he already knows many of the staff members and families.”
While he is thankful for his time at Centennial, Boyd says he is looking forward to this new opportunity.
“Having been part of the Woodland cluster since 2003 as a teacher, coach, administrator and parent, I am grateful to Dr. Looney and the leadership team for this opportunity to serve my community,” said Boyd. “The students, staff, parents and stakeholders of Woodland Middle School can expect a high level of energy and enthusiasm for academic growth, artistic expression and athletic success for years to come.”
Boyd was an active duty army officer for four years prior to his career in education. He earned a Bachelor’s in History at the University of Alabama; a Master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Tennessee at Martin; and a Doctorate from Trevecca University. He will begin his new role July 1, 2018.
