What Parents Need to Know About WCS Food Services in 2017-18

Published August 3, 2017

Meal prices for WCS students will remain the same as last year.

Elementary breakfast will cost $1.50 and lunch will cost $2.75. Middle and high school breakfast will cost $1.75 and lunch will cost $2.75.

Adults pay $2.50 for breakfast and $3.50 for lunch.

Menus

“We continue to work on improving our menu and the way we prepare our food,” said WCS Food Services Director James Remete. “We know that students perform better when their stomachs are full.”

Each school cafeteria has a cafe supervisor and several cafe workers. WCS schools participate in the Offer vs. Serve program, a USDA program allowing students to choose what they want to eat.

The meals are broken down into components, and students are required to take a certain number of components before the meal qualifies as a breakfast or lunch. More information about the program is available on the WCS Food Services page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the “Food Services Resources” tab to find the “How the Program Works” drop-down menu.

Students and parents may also find menu information for their school on the Menus and Pricing page.

Online Meal Payments

Parents may monitor their child’s account through WCS Meal Payments, but they must register for a new account in order to use WCS Meal Payments for the 2017-18 school year.

They may make online payments, add purchasing restrictions, transfer money between siblings and request refunds by using the proper online request form available on the WCS Food Services page.

The application free and reduced school meals may be accessed using WCS Meal Payments. The process is safe and simple. Upon completing the application, parents will find out if they qualify to receive benefits. Paper forms are also accepted and may be found by visiting the school’s front office or online on the Food Services page.
