Williamson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney has announced that Jill Hunt will be leading Westwood Elementary next year. She replaces Valerie Garcia who is retiring.
Hunt is currently the Principal of Centerville Elementary in Hickman County.
“Jill’s depth of knowledge of elementary curriculum is profound,” said Looney. “She has an infectious personality and is laser focused on student results. She is exactly the leader I was hoping to find for Westwood.”
Hunt taught kindergarten and first grade for a combined five years at East Hickman and Centerville elementary schools. She served as an assistant principal at East Hickman Intermediate School before spending the last three years as principal of Centerville Elementary.
“It is my goal to help each child reach his or her full potential in school all while inspiring a love of learning,” said Hunt. “I look forward to working with and getting to know the staff, students, families and community members.”
Hunt holds a Bachelor’s in Child and Family Studies and Education from Freed-Hardeman University and a Master’s in Administration and Supervision from Middle Tennessee State University. She will begin her new role on July 1, 2018.
