WCS Bands Give Top Performances at MTSBOA Assessments

Published April 5, 2018

Several Williamson County Schools bands can feel accomplished after their successful Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra (MTSBOA) Concert Performance Assessments.

The assessments took place on March 21-23 and are an opportunity for ensembles to showcase their performance and sight-reading abilities to a panel of four judges. Depending on the scores, the ensembles may qualify for the State Concert Festival.

This year, the Tennessee chapter of the American School Band Directors Association recognized bands who received a superior rating in every subcategory from every judge in both sight-reading and performance with the Award of Distinction. Below are the bands that received this recognition:

  • Page Middle Eighth Grade Band
  • Page High Symphonic Band
  • Franklin High Wind Ensemble
  • Sunset Middle Eighth Grade Band
  • Brentwood High Wind Ensemble
