The purpose of this section is to answer any questions parents, teachers or community members might have regarding the school district and to set the record straight in regards to any rumors that might be circulating.

If you have a question or have heard a rumor that you would like for us to address, simply SEND US your questions and we will respond to them in upcoming issues of InFocus. Below are some of the questions we have received since our last issue.

When will the 2018-2019 school calendar be released?

The School Board will discuss the 2018-19 school year calendar at its November 16 work session. A vote could come as early as November 27 when the Board meets for its November meeting.

Is it true that all incoming Franklin High School freshmen are going to be stuck over at the Columbia State Community College former campus?

We are putting 16 classrooms in the main part of that building. With the student population at Franklin High, we need these additional classrooms. Many freshmen will likely spend some but not all of their day there. Because these will be standard classrooms that will not be used for the arts, Career and Technical Education, etc., there is no reasonable way to schedule a student’s entire day there.

Is it true that Page High School is getting a completely new football field?

As part of the improvements to the Page High football field, artificial turf will be installed on the existing field and the existing six lane track will be expanded to eight.
