Published May 14, 2018

Oak View Assistant Principal Amy Stephenson has been named to lead the school. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement Monday morning. She will replace Dr. Tom Morris who is leaving the district at the end of the school year.

“Amy was the perfect choice for Oak View,” said Looney. “She knows the school community, and I’m confident she will continue to build upon the strong foundation already in place there.”

Stephenson has served as the assistant principal at Oak View for the past five years. Prior to that time, she served in the same role at Varsity Lakes Middle School in Florida for three years and taught at the third, fourth and fifth grade levels for a combined six years.

“It has been my absolute privilege to serve as the assistant principal of Oak View for the past five years,” said Stephenson. “As Oak View’s new principal, I look forward to building upon our current successes and continuing to establish relationships with students, staff, parents and the community. Oak View will continue to be a school of excellence due to the support and encouragement from all school stakeholders.”

Stephenson holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University. She will begin her new role on July 1, 2018.
