Message from Superintendent Looney
Published August 18, 2017
Dear Parents,
It is unbelievable that the morning school bell has already sounded! Our team has been busy preparing for this school year. Thank you for entrusting us with your precious children. Hopefully this first week of school has been great and everyone is settling into a routine. Kindergarten fun begins on Monday! Please feel free to reach out to me as your superintendent if I can be of assistance as we roll up our sleeves and get to work with new learning. I can be reached by email at mike.looney@wcs.edu or by phone 615.293.0997. In addition, the WCS Parents Bill of Rights might be a great resource to help you navigate the complexities of school district services.
The district’s new Strategic Plan details our goals and associated action steps. Your input led us to focus on the social and emotional aspects of your child’s growth and development. In addition, we will continue to provide your children with high quality experiences in academics, arts and athletics.
I want to express my unwavering commitment to maintaining a friendly, safe and respectful learning environment for all students in Williamson County. The world is rife with examples of conflict, unrest, and in some instances violence. Our community is not immune to this reality. However, it is of the utmost importance that we embrace our differences, maintain proper decorum, and support our children. Please work with me to keep the climate of disagreement and conflict away from the school house doors, so that all of our children can enjoy learning in a place where all students are welcome, wanted and worthwhile.
Respectfully,
Mike Looney
