IHS Freshman Wins 2018 Fine Arts Festival Logo Contest

The votes are in and the Williamson County Schools Fine Arts Festival has a new logo.
The designer is Independence High freshman Kyle Harrison. His inspiration came from everything the Fine Arts Festival encompasses: acting, vocals and music.
“I just thought of how I could take everything and put it into one thing and still be simple,” Kyle said.
This is the fifth year for the Fine Arts Festival, so a committee of parents, teachers and students agreed that a new look was in order.
“One of the goals has been to increase student leadership in promoting and coordinating the festival,” said WCS Fine Arts Director Melissa Dufrechou. “Naturally, it made sense to have student input on the new look and feature the artistic talent of our own students.”
For creating the winning design, Kyle will receive a Walmart gift card, 10 free rounds of bowling at Franklin Family Entertainment and a Popcorn Village gift card. His design will be displayed all around the festival and on promotional material.
“It feels good,” Kyle said. “I have family members who have been in the festival, so it’s cool to have this incorporated in.”
