Grassland Middle Boys Track Team Hits Stride

It’s been a long time coming, but the Grassland Middle School boys track team won its first county championship in 30 years.
On April 25, the team was crowned the winners of the Williamson Middle Athletics Association Championship after three days of competition.
Fourteen boys helped contribute points to the well-earned championship, and seven of them placed in the top three of their categories. The team also placed first in the 4X100 relay, the 4X200 relay and the 100 open.
“These boys deserve it,” said Grassland Middle track coach Alex Eichner. “The hard work and determination they displayed at the county championship was truly unparalleled. No team I have ever been a part of has wanted it more. I am so incredibly proud of them and know this victory is but one of many successes they all will accomplish throughout their lives.”
