Franklin High Student Earns US Army All-American Team Honor

Published October 17, 2017

Franklin High School football player and senior Max Wray can add another honor to his list of accomplishments.

On October 10, Max was recognized as one of the Top 100 high school football players in the country by being selected for the U.S. Army All-American team. Max plays on the Franklin High football team as an offensive lineman.

“It’s kind of crazy,” Max said. “You never really think about it on such a broad term. It makes you feel like all your work paid off, but there’s still more to do.”

Joined by his friends, family and teammates, Max was given a jersey and officially announced as a member of the Army All-American East team.

“It’s just been a dream for so long,” Max said. “It’s kind of turning the page from high school to college. I’m excited to have all my family and friends out here.”

Max will graduate from FHS in December and then travel to San Antonio to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on January 6. After that, he’ll begin his time at Ohio State University playing on the football team. He’s looking forward to Bowl Week.

“The coaching, being on TV for the first time, it’s going to be a cool experience,” Max said. “You also get to support the Army and give them respect.”
