Brentwood High School Marching Band Wins Big

The Brentwood High School marching band is riding high after winning the title of Grand Champion at the Music City Invitational Marching Contest.

The invitational was held October 21 at McGavock High School and featured 20 bands from Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky and Indiana. After a preliminary competition, 10 bands were selected to continue on to the finals on Saturday.

The BHS marching band didn’t stop at Grand Champion. The band also received the Mayor’s Cup for Large Division as well as first place for Overall High Scores in Music Performance, Visual Performance and Overall Effect.

The band finished the night with a score of 94.2, beating second-place Hernando High School by a full point. The BHS band director is Randy Box; the assistant director is Andrew O’Keefe.
