Brentwood, Grassland Middle Soccer Teams Finish Strong

Published November 30, 2017

The middle school soccer season has come to a close, and two Williamson County schools emerged at the top after the Williamson County Middle Athletic Association tournament on November 13-16.

The Grassland Middle girls’ soccer team finished the season as champions for the second time in a row, but this year they added on to the achievement by not allowing a single goal to be scored on them all season.

“To win back-to-back championships is hard enough, but to win it without allowing a single goal against us is going to another level,” said GMS coach Clarke Oldham.

The team defeated the Brentwood Middle girls’ team 2-0 in the final round.

“All season the girls were so positive and supportive of each other that it carried them not only to an incredible season but to a well-deserved championship,” Oldham said.

The Brentwood Middle boys’ team also had a repeat performance and became the WMAA boys’ soccer champions. The team can boast about having only one loss under their belts over the past two years.

“Going into this season, we knew it was going to take everything we had to be in that championship game,” said BMS coach Benjamin Hahs. “To be undefeated and repeat as county champions is a special thing. I’m proud of these boys for what they’ve accomplished.”
